With the introduction of The Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations there are strict requirements for all employers of five or more people.  A formal risk assessment needs to be made of the premises, with written records kept of all the findings and measures taken. Fire detection and fighting equipments needs to be installed and maintained as well as the installation of fire escapes and appropriate signage.  Training also needs to be provided for all staff on what action to take in the event of a fire as well on the operation of fire fighting equipment.
